Category: Let's talk
Hi guys,
Was just wondering if anyone could help me out with another survey for an article on the shark net verses shark drums debate - which is better for the environment, in your opinion? Which method do you think is most affective, etc?
Note: I wish to publish this article in the Gold Coast Bulletin, so if you don't wish to be quoted, just let me know.
Thanks!
Jess.
Well not being an Aussie but being familiar with sharks. Owing to the recent hot weather, we have the odd great white and numerous tiger sharks in Scotland, attracted by the abundance of seals. I would say the nets are a danger to other marine life particularly turtles, who need to come ashore to lay their eggs. Also I saw a disturbing article about a humpback whale caught in a shark net, he was saved miraculously by a team of extremely brave marine scientists: I agree that sharks are dangerous and the public need to be protected. However, there has to be a a more humane way of deterring them when we visit their domain.
Hi,
Thanks for that, Goblin. I'll still include it though as it's also prevelant in your p[art of the world.
Thanks again.
Jess.
No problem..smile good luck with the article
